Hoang also reveal a plan to open sea routes connecting Phu Quoc and Thailand and Cambodia to attract more international tourists to the island in the near future. Additionally, an air route Phu Quoc – Thailand is being proposed to the Government. By the end of this year, there would be three new hotels, with a total capacity of 200 rooms. However, this seems to be still inadequate compare to the increasing demand.
